Karakasa the Umbrella Ghost

Price range: 3 000 L through 4 100 L

An industrial translation of Japanese folklore intersecting with contemporary character design. The Karakasa-Obake—a traditional tsukumogami (spirit of an umbrella)—is materialized into a rigid, physical artifact. This sculpture strips away conventional mythological abstraction, merging exaggerated proportions with high-fidelity digital fabrication to present a commanding, monolithic figure.

STRUCTURAL AESTHETIC Merging the classic silhouette of the umbrella ghost with the bold geometry of designer art toys. The sweeping curves of the canopy, the pronounced singular eye, and the characteristic facial structure are locked into a static, high-contrast medium, transforming playful folklore into a striking sculptural object.
